GIBS ‘Student of the Year’ glitters once again!

Global Institute of Business Studies celebrates several profound occasions each year, but the SOTY recognizes all-round accomplishments along with academics and talents like sports that lead to great careers. As the GIBS Flashback Video unfolded on 30th March 2019 at the GIBS Residential Campus, a moment of deserved pride swept through the gathering. An enthralled audience of over 700 comprised of corporates and academicians along with the student fraternity.

Commendably hosted by Sandeep Bhansali, GIBS witnessed the pleasure of the enterprising company of Mr. Srinivas, CEO, SNN Builders Pvt. Ltd. as the Chief Guest. Ms. June Nabira, Entrepreneur and Motivational Speaker, and Mr. Kamlesh Patel, Finalist, Indian reality show Dance India Dance, Oscar Awardee and Bollywood celebrity, were the Guests of Honour for the evening.   Mr. Arjun Dev, Actor and Socialist, accompanied by Chairman Shri. B.L. Goyal, MD, and Mr. Ritesh Goyal, youngest chairman in the educational field in India, and Dr. K Aparna Rao, Director, graced the dais.

Three cheers for the SOTY!

Anmol Vijay Chhogani received the 1 Lakh Cash Prize and the SOTY trophy for being judged above the rest. Everyone wishes to be that way, but few get the opportunity. Certainly an auspicious beginning to a super future career for Anmol.

Inviting and welcoming the guests on the dais was symbolic indeed. The Profile reading and the Felicitations, the speeches and the applause continued over several rounds.

The show business world and media celebrities do get the best attention. At the center of attraction was Indian actor Mr. Arjun Dev, busy with the local Kannada film industry. An amazing feature film acting debut came for him in Yugapurusha, an action film released in 2017.

A journey of a thousand miles

Like guests in a hotel, the boys and girls stay for short durations within the hallowed GIBS campus. May the GIBS spirit continue to shine bright across the present and future innovative batches of eager young boys and girls?

While the Organizing Committee deserves praise for putting things together so well, the awardees shine like the stars that beckon across enormous distances and provide hope and inspiration to the juniors, just like the alumni lustre from their exalted senior positions in the business industry.

Nithish Kumar P. C. as the Best Talent Male and Minal Sanjay Gawande as the Best Talent Female went under the spotlight and promise fervent tomorrows. Sarthak Bhaskar Mangaonkar carried away the Best Sportsman Award. Y. Charme received the Best Attendance Award. A dedicated performance by the Creative Club attracted the Best Club & Committee Award.  Congratulations!

Music, dance and song have reverberated through the ages in the human consciousness and mean so much to so many. Several dance performances kept the spectators in good humor and appropriately energized to appreciate the show of talents and skills. After the inaugural dance by Harshitha Aradya came the dance performance by Aadi & group. Binod & group dance recital also enthralled.

Some other programs were certainly worthy of mention. The Kamlesh Patel performances and the Sameer & Shubham Brahme presentation brought a lot of cheer.

Goth and Punk Fashion Show went a few steps further to highlight contemporary themes and the consciousness of designer apparel is at an all-time high in cosmopolitan Bangalore.  DJ Night remained to electrify a few more moments before the wrapup. The Poolside dinner uplifted spirits one more time.

All good things must end, but not completely. A stunning variety of occasions light up the GIBS campus with sparkling spirits during every academic session. It does appear that the institution is busy scaling greater heights each time.
